Queen’s 90th celebrations in Mold

‘Music Through the Decades’ on Sunday 12 June from 12 noon

To celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday, Mold will be holding a musical tribute spanning the decades of the Monarch’s long life. The Town loves a party and ‘Music through the Decades’, with live music and dance in Daniel Owen Square, promises to be a wonderful afternoon with an eclectic mix of musical genres to enjoy.

The free family event is on Sunday 12 June and starts at 12 noon with the internationally renowned Flint Male Voice Choir, Cor Meibion Y Fflint, performing a selection of early 20th Century Welsh and English classics. The Choir has  been delighting audiences for years with their distinctive award-winning melodic singing.

When it comes to music from the following decades of the 1940s and 50s – who better to perform a selection of favourites than popular singer Julie Scott. She was a real success at the Town’s VE and VJ Day events last year.

Which only takes us to the first decade of the Queen’s reign. Mold Town Council, organisers of the 90th Birthday Celebration, has a host of other talented performers lined up to entertain us with music and dance right through to the 21st century. It promises to be a great afternoon.
