Daffodils are starting to show on the road side verges and with signs of spring all around us it is time to get ready for Mold Spring Clean 2015. This year’s clean will take place from Friday 27 to Monday 30 March, and everyone is invited to join in the annual town-wide event.

Last year around 1,000 volunteers took up the challenge and made the Town sparkle. There are lots of ways that you can help to make the Spring Clean a success again this year. From cleaning up the street and pavement area outside your house to joining a group of volunteers through the organisers, Mold Town Council and Keep Wales Tidy.

There is plenty for the groups to do – litter picking, varnishing benches, sprucing up flower beds and helping staff the Spring Clean HQ which will be at Mold Town Hall, Earl Road, from 9am to 4pm on each of the four days.

If you can help in any way for an hour please let the Spring Clean team know.

Where would you like to see spring cleaned this year, is there an area that you think needs some attention in Mold? Please get in touch so it can be added to the list, as the aim is to tackle over 80% of the Town.

Springy, the Mold Spring Clean mascot, will be out and about again visiting schools before the event.

If we all actively promote the event and encourage our neighbours to take part with us to Spring Clean our own area, it will make it light work.

To get in touch please phone Mold Town Council on 01352 758532 / 751819, or Keep Wales Tidy on 07717 495188. You can also email

or visit Springy on facebook.

Tidy Wales was so impressed with Mold Spring Clean last year that they have short listed the community event for one of their prestigious awards. The ceremony is on 27 April in Cardiff. Good luck Springy and our Mold team!
