Mayor of Mold’s Christmas concert…….tickets on sale now !

Continuing with his “Ysbrydoliaeth a Chwedlau”/“Inspirations and Legends” Mayoral theme the Mayor of Mold is extremely proud to present his charity Christmas concert at St Mary’s Church on Monday 11th December at 7.30pm with special guests Arfon Wyn & Pererin

Headlining the evening’s entertainment is legendary Welsh folk rock band Pererin, who have recently reunited after 36 years and they are delighted to be performing in Mold for Councillor Bob Gaffey’s Christmas concert.  Pererin, meaning ‘pilgrim’ in Welsh, perform traditional and traditionally inspired original material in Welsh, combining spiritual and romantic themes with a strong helping of Nationalistic pride and a desire to preserve their own unique culture.

Also joining the festive line up are local performers and groups – festive favourites will be performed by the hugely acclaimed local musical theatre group Buzz Ah! who aim to develop a variety of skills for people with and without disabilities.

Performing a range of classical songs with their unique pop rock twist, are The Sioned Ellis Singers who are a small group of female singers, aged between 14 and 80 years! Next up is talented singer songwriter Laura Wilson who will be combining her young, fresh voice with her acoustic guitar to create an indie, folk sound, with her own special touch.

Additionally, school children from Ysgol Bryn Gwalia and Ysgol Glanrafon will also be taking to the stage to sing some of their favourite Christmas classics which are sure to delight the audience.  Supporting this great array of talent, Mold’s very own Concert Band will once again be tuning up to provide their ever popular musical back drop for the evening.

Mayor of Mold, Councillor Bob Gaffey said:  “As Mayor of Mold my chosen fundraising appeal this year is the Bailey Hill improvement project and I am thrilled and delighted to have such a fantastic line up of performers to entertain us at the Charity Concert.  The theme for the concert is Ysbrydoliaeth a Chwedlau / Inspirations and Legends and the concert, will be a musical treat for all.  We will also be serving mince pies with a glass of wine, and to top it all, tickets are only £10 per person, so come along and join us, tickets are now on sale”.

Mold Town Council is working alongside the Friends of Bailey Hill and Flintshire County Council on the Bailey Hill improvement project.  The Christmas concert is just one of the fundraising events the Mayor is holding in our bid to raise £62,500, which is needed to bring in nearly £1 million of a Heritage Lottery Grant.

The concert will take place on Monday 11th December at St Mary’s Church, High Street Mold, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the Mayor’s Christmas Concert are now on sale and priced at just £10.00 and available from Mold Town Council, Mold Town Hall, Earl Road. Vaughan Davies, Wrexham Street or Bargain Booze, High Street Mold
