Mold gets ready for Christmas
The Christmas festive season is set to sparkle in Mold town centre when the magical Xmas lights are switched on by Father Christmas on Tuesday 29 November. It promises to be a night to remember with choirs and bands from the local primary and high schools providing the festive entertainment from 3.30pm in Daniel Owen Square – with a finale by Mold Town Concert Band.
Father Christmas will switch the lights on at 6pm, and meet children in his grotto afterwards. There will also be a funfair on the High Street from 4pm to 8.30pm.
Mold Town Council provide the Xmas lights and are replacing them year-on-year with energy efficient LED lights.
Get into the festive spirit with Mold’s Santa Dash on Sunday 11 December. Here’s your chance to dress up in a Santa suit and run … or walk … the 1.4 mile route. The great santa warm up starts at 10.30am in Daniel Owen Square, ready for the start of the race at 11am. Entry is £10 per adult (free for under 12’s) and funds raised will help to buy defibrillators for the Mayor’s ‘Save a Life’ appeal.
Entry forms from Mold Town Council, with a closing date of 30 November.
In Mold we’re spoilt for choice of pantomimes. There is Aladdin – the Wok ‘n’ Roll Panto at Theatr Clwyd from 25 November to 21 January, call 01352 701521 for details; and on Sunday 11 December, Mold Carnival presents Rumpelstiltskin, the return of the spinning wheel.
