Carnival sun: Bailey Hill rain

The joys of running outdoor events and festivals in North Wales!

Mold Carnival was a day to remember, the sun shone and over 4,000 people enjoyed live music in both Daniel Owen Square and the High Street, along with a host of activities and stalls on Mold Town Park. Volunteers including Helen Perry, Mold Town Council and local businesses organised the excellent day.

Three weeks earlier, Cittaslow Mold’s Bailey Hill Festival had to be cancelled on 23 June because of the heavy rain, wind and cold. Dozens of performers, organisations and volunteers were involved and we were all disappointed that the weather let us down. Advance publicity and cancellation fees amounted to almost £1,500 and it will be a big task to raise funds for an event at Bailey Hill in 2014.
